He does i got colony from him also and they are doing well drew has some good ones too i got a few from him. I just think its weird that as a beekeeper i can find all these people that sell queens and colonies no problem all kinds of of different types of Queens yet there's only a tiny handful of people that sell and queens why are they so scarce It took me years to find drew and nurbs ???

Let's face it bees are a domesticated insect with a well developed way to create queens. Unfortunately ants are considered a pest and there is not a developed method to develop queen ants domestically.

Palomar Mountain near Escondido is farther from San Diego than Orange County?

At some point in the future when you have more available would you be willing to stretch your radius restriction slightly? like out to 220 miles? I'm in fresno Area....

Them are some amazing pictures... Great quality... What camera are you using.  And for the ant species, those prices are just about right!

Yeah, as long as it is within State lines and we are meeting up and not shipping. Not everyone will be willing to drive over 150 miles for ants, but some have.

Thanks. Used a Canon 1DX (I make a living on photography) with a 100mm macro lens and two large softboxes.

Awesome! Where do you collect?

Where do I find them? Or do you mean where to meet? Just message me for more details.

I find ants all over Southern California. Depends on the species and when the weather conditions are ideal.

Nurbs where did you find all of those ants? I have absolutely no way to find any around me...here in SoCal :(

SoCal has a huge diversity of ants! More than many other places.

But unless your backyard is in the mountains or the desert, you still have to drive out though. Sometimes a few hours.

Hi I'm new to form. I live in Lancaster CA. Looking to purchase a queen or Small Colony for my son and I to enjoy. My father had large farms. For the past yr my son has really grown to love it. We have just been buying the ants from online. Never a queen. Just built my formicaruim. I figured if he stayed interested this long I might as well relive my childhood day loving ants. Any help would be appreciated. Also like I said I'm new to form so I'm reading the rules. Forgive me and correct my mistakes
