Hello.
I have a problem with ants in my apartment. It started few days ago, there were just a little of them at the beginning but today they are all over the place, hudreds of them in the carpet. I called the supervisor but the pest control guy is going to come next week. I am doing a renovation and I cannot wait. My neighbours got them as well. They are very small and black, their legs seems to look lighter than the body - more blonde. Could you help me identifying the ants so I would know how to fight them?

They look like a Lasius sp. Id use this stuff (link below), the workers will take it back and feed it to the queen and brood. It's only takes a day or so to kill the majority of them just put it along the baseboards and in heavily populated areas on tin foil. Be careful if you have any animals. Also borax and sugar mixed will kill them, nut I find the store bought best.
