Hello all...I'm new to this area.I did have an ant farm for a few months as a kid, but never had had a queen. 3 weeks ago I found a winged queen crawling on the floor at my work. I was able to capture her and as soon as I left work I went and bought a tiny ant farm from a toy store. I set it up immediately when I got home and placed her in it. The first few days she just wandered around and then she finally started to go into the tunnel that I had started. Finally she started to grow a little deeper and make the chamber for herself and about two weeks later removed her wings. I haven't noticed any eggs but I'm not sure what I need to do in regards to keeping her fed. I did place a drip of honey in there for her and some sugar water, and I also have a cotton ball soaked with water in there for her. However where I placed the little ball of honey and then another little ball of bread it seems to be molding. I'm going on vacation this week and will be back late Friday or early Saturday morning, but I'm not sure if I should just take her out of there and set up a bouquet waterpik in the manner of how the test tubes are set up. Should I be trying to feed her at this time? Any information would be helpful, thank you.

It would really help if you could ID her. You should make a post in the ID section. She most likely does not need to be fed during this period. Make sure you keep the substrate somewhat wet otherwise her tunnels will collapse and kill her.
