Currently I have 4 of the Formica sp queens. Three of these queens were caught on May 30 2016, and another a few days later. One of the queens ate all her brood early on. I gave her a pupae which has now eclosed, hoping she might start laying again. The other queens all have workers, the most having 8, but none have laid anymore eggs. I just wish they didn't freak out so easily, I've had a queen bolt out of the test tube as soon as I removed the cotton leaving her workers behind.
