July 28 2017 - These gals have slowed down, and I think are in hibernation state. No eggs, and all the pupae are being kept tiny.

Feb 11 2018 - Took them out of hibernation a week ago(4 months total), they are still a little lethargic. Hope to see these guys grow some numbers this year.

Cool. I have two Lasius cf. claviger queens in hibernation right now because I don't have a host colony. I hope that they are this successful when I do get a host colony (I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high, though, since claviger group Lasius are known to mysteriously fail in captivity).

I'm guessing the workers are just getting old and most colonies wait a few weeks before laying eggs again.

The queen never laid anymore eggs. She then left the nest and started frantically darting around the out world.
She eventually went back into the the nest and died. Not sure what happened? She made it 2 years and looked promising.
On a positive note I've seen a few umbratus queens this week
