If they are/ were here they almost certainly represent a relict population from a bygone age. Current environmental conditions are generally not conducive to them in California, if anything took them out in recent history it would be man made environmental alterations which did them in based on the original label data.

Actually one dubious record in California, however my dad and I were never able to collect specimens to confirm it.

 

Exactly where was this?

Labeled San Bernardino, which considering the time of collection could be about anywhere in that area but if  SB proper the site is certainly long gone.
