I moved them into a nest I had made and I came back to find a lot of ants missing, I found the hole but not the workers that escaped. They are in a test tube with a small population now. I hope they don’t eat their egg pile again, especially since the population drop.

They had 25-30 workers :( most of the escapees were repleats and I’m assuming they got carried off by wild worker ants while they were exploring. Hopefully the lack of workers will encourage them to not eat their eggs! And I know they have a protein repleat as well so that should improve the odds as well
