NO. No no no no. Not down. WHAT no.
On that note, where does one find 1/2 lb of larvae or pupae. Local grocery store? LOL. xDDD

I read somewhere that ant larvae/pupae are popular in parts of Europe along with many other countries on that side of the world.
We just aren't used to knowingly eating bugs or insects as a meal. Locusts, ants, snails, caterpillars, cockroaches, crickets, various grubs and larvae of many species are eaten in many locations without second thought.
Although I am not sure how I would react if someone handed me a barbequed skewer of cicads....

There is a restaurant called Typhoon in Santa Monica, CA that serves "Manchurian Chambai Ants" that I have tried and liked. They are whole ants (dead of course) served over shoe string potatoes. I am not sure what species they are so next time I go I will keep one and have dspdrew ID it.
I've eaten plenty of weird things in my life and I'm very open minded when it comes to food... but I think I draw the line at bugs. xD
I know there is some restaurant in LA that sells honeypot ants as a dessert.

I have been to Europe many times, never have I heard of that. I'm just not looking in the right countries.
I know NOME had a dish with ants in it. Not down for that.
Mmm cockroaches, a great source of Dysentery and other essential diseases! :sick2:
