They are not happy or secure in their environment, if they are pulling at the cotton.

Hi, yesterday I found two ants that appear to me as queens and I would need some help to know if they are and what species they are. It's my first time trying to catch queens so I hope they are. Here are the pics

BTW the first one is always trying to pull out the cotton even tho I leave them alone. What are the causes?

I mean they both stay in the same place but the second one doesn't try to pull out the cotton.

I actually have changed her water and added some sand in the test tube even tho I shouldn't disturb her.

That is the slowest image host I have ever seen. It's best to get the direct URL of images and embed them in the post.

 

Nice pictures though.

 

I think I would agree with drtrmiller on the ID.
