Hi Jedi! I'll be moving to Bozeman, MT in August to attend MSU. Where in Montana are you located? I'm interested in the ants there too.

Hello Miles! I live just south of Missoula, in the Bitterroot valley in Hamilton. Bozeman is a great place. You'll love it. Tetramorium is just starting to fly, so I'm hoping to have some luck finding a queen or 3. If anybody near Missoula has a
Tetramorium Queen they don't need don't hesitate to contact me please.

Thank you for the info, Crystals. Yes, it's easier to find info now than it was when I was last into the hobby! Re: no internet.

No, I'm in Priest River, ID now--north of Coeur d'Alene.  I get back to Hamilton twice a year to visit.

Hey Miles. We chatted briefly on Facebook when I was first starting out last year. I'm glad to hear that you chose to go to Bozeman.

Hey Russ. Have you had any luck finding queens yet this year?

So far, I've only found Camponotus.  My son claims to have spotted more, but I have not verified them because they are mysteriously gone before I arrive.   Not everyone in our house believes in having ants as pets, so I'm not an active ant hunter.  If I stumble across a queen, I'll collect it, but I don't go out searching for queens.  I currently have 6 total queens.  Two Formica that I found last year are beginning actual colonies now, and that is really exciting.s
