For anyone trying to figure out how to list your state's ant subfamilies, genera, or species by images, you might have noticed that instead of taking you to the list you would expect, it instead takes you to some random location far, far away. At the time of writing this post, "subfamilies" takes you to Southern Asia, and "genera" takes you to Brazil... no matter what State in the US you are looking at. Well I've been messing around with the URL's a bit, and figured out how to fix it for now.

Until they get this fixed (assuming they are working on that--I hope), you can still access the correct list by simply adding a parameter onto the end of the URL. If you add "&project=[state or province]ants", you should get the list for that particular state or province (assuming they have that data). Make sure to type the actual state or province name and not "[state or province]".  :P

Here is an example, since examples are usually the easiest way to explain something. Below is the broken URL, and its corrected URL below that.
https://www.antweb.org/taxonomicPage.do?rank=genus&adm1Name=California&images=true
https://www.antweb.org/taxonomicPage.do?rank=genus&adm1Name=California&images=true&project=californiaants

Edit: Updated the information a bit.

Edit: It appears they fixed the problem for the United States :)

Thanks for posting this. I figured out how to redirect fairly quickly, but it took a lot of clicking around.  I sure hope the website is fixed soon.

I can not seem to break down the Canadian provinces at all.  Which is really frustrating.  Admittedly the "view" on the images now works when switching between head, profile, and dorsal.

Here is my bookmarked link for Alberta genera images - https://www.antweb.o...nts&images=true

BC genera - https://www.antweb.o...nts&images=true

Yeah, that's really terrible for all of you in Canada. I edited my first post. The edited fix should solve this problem too. Just add the "project" parameter onto the end of the URL.

"&project=albertaants"
