See it running away from my meal worm containers. My best guess was some sort of grain beetle. I don't see any signs of anymore.
It's about 8mm long.

That looks more like a click beetle to me, I don't know what they eat or a lot about their basic biology. You can find them outside quite easily.
Just to make sure, Hold the beetle and if it "flicks" itself and makes a clicking noise via this movement it's probably a click beetle.
