Probably came from someones pet. Looks like its left back foot is hurt.

Poor guy, can he walk well though? Someone probably didn't want a "defective" pet. He has a cool pattern that changes depending on how you look at it. Are you going to keep it, or give it away?
A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?
They are known to be established in southern California.
Really? I've never seen them here... I'm gonna have to search more specifically to see these little guys out and about, they're pretty fun to watch.

Yeah, I'm keeping it. It seems to be able to walk fine.

Yeah, I was reading about it, and it looks like there are some small areas here and there where they can be found now thanks to irresponsible pet owners. I think all the ones I read about were not even in the wilderness, but areas in the city. Not sure if it was here, but I thought I also read that some hitched rides on plants.
Yes there are scattered breeding populations, mostly in populated residential areas. I found them in Huntington Beach a few years ago.It is assumed they have reached the area primarily in ornamental plants.
Hitchhikers come in every shape and size, water and land.
Where are they normally found?
Cuba I think.
Oh how strange. It looks like it belongs in a desert not Cuba.
That's a nice looking anole!
Other than the back foot, I think it looks like it's in decent condition. I really enjoy keeping ants and a leopard gecko, since much of their diet overlaps.
Here's my leopard gecko/ant youtube: https://goo.gl/cRAFbK
My ant website.
It contains a lot of information about ants, guides, videos, links, and more!
If you have any feedback, please post here or PM me, don't be shy!
I currently keep:
Formica podzolica
It died shortly after I caught it.

Did you capitalize on the situation and give the corpse to a colony?
Yeah, I fed it to my Crematogaster colony.
That is absolutely awesome. I hope to eventually have a colony that can process something that large. Did you get a video at all? That would be cool to see.
No. They ate it all in like a day or two.
Wow, well that is really cool though. Good to know that it didn't go to waste.
