Hello all,

I adopted 2 queens (Prenolepis Imparis) from the Gan project. Yeah I suck at finding queens. 😔Still trying to catch 1 but as of right now havent been skilled enough. Went out looking the other day and found a ton of colonies with brood mostly tetramorium so at least if I find a queen I will be a able to boost.

Anyway my question is well everything. If anyone has any tips for me I'm all ears. I haven't found much on them as far as care in captivity. So far both are doing well with a good clutch of eggs. My plan is to keep them in my draw in the dark without checking on them for at least a week maybe 2 weeks.

1. Favorite foods.
2. Best temperature to keep them.
3. Dislikes
4. And anything other vital info.

Sorry no picture yet. I will take some when I check on them.

Thank you in advance
James

I caught my first Prenolepis imparis queen this year as well. She seems to just want to be left alone until she has workers. Make sure she has constant access to moisture, this species seems to like to have high humidity.

It's been hard but I only checked on them once. I have them in a test tube setup so moisture should be fine right? I do need to buy thermometer to see the best place in the house to store them.

I have heard they don't like that much heat. Which hasn't been a problem cause here in New York it's still on the cold side. It is going to warm up real soon so I want to be ready.

Hoping to catch Camponotus soon!
