saw that my s invicta colony had made a chamber next to the side of the container, looked and saw

multi-queen colony with 5 to 6 queens all living together for a whole year (almost, it will b a year on 5-29-2016)

 

 

is this normal??

As far as I know, S. invicta can be polygyne.

just remembered i put multi queens in 1 container, figured they would hav killed off the weaker queens by now, guess not....  sorry

No need to be sorry. How big is the Colony? I wouldn't doubt them reaching 100,000 with 5 queens in half a year

, small like 50 or less, the window in the bathroom i have them in leaks so the a/c - heater unit inside draws in the outside air, so no need for a heating source
