Unknown crematogaster queen. Caught near southern Orange county California. I caught her in a nest. Workers have heart shaped gaster and their middle segment appears dark red. Her yellow gaster has since shrunk and turned normal black since she layed some eggs. Any thoughts? I know C. Is hard to identify so I may have to settle for crematogaster sp as its name

Even with high resolution pictures taken from a microscope, it's almost impossible to ID Crematogaster in Southern California, so unless one of the experts has an idea as to what they are, you'll probably have to just go with "Crematogaster sp.".
