Can you guess what is flying in Alberta, Canada?

Everyone else seems to be finding ants, queens, and insects in general while I get to gaze at the lovely snowbanks.   :D

It is normal for my location to get snow until about mid-May.  I have seen snow in every month except for July (some years are just weird).

My poor... When me I'm reading quietly a book under the sun on my balcony, enjoying the end of a week of examinations.

Is that car a Mustang?

Yes, my brother's convertible Mustang - he just took it out of storage last week.  :D

You can't really see it, but the rust-bucket truck in front of it is also his - they look so comical side by side.  The Mustang is in perfect condition, while I am waiting for the door to fall off of his truck.  :D

We keep hoping for that perfect spring! I know down here we had almost 20 degrees one week and snow storms the next. I am very ready for the snow to stop and the sun to shine!

Guess what is flying here on the eve of November first? ANTS! :D Also, Simi Valley is getting the first significant rain in like half a year so that is nice too. :) The ants seem to sense the rain, a lot of them are seeming to move brood over to the dry side of the tube...

You just have to rub it in don't you?  :D

It is currently snowing outside where I am.  :D

The only ants I see are the ones in cooler and on my shelves.

The closest I've been to that kind of weather is when I lived in Flagstaff, Arizona but it didn't snow that much. I did experience the coldest night of my life though. -10F with a -27 windchill. I swear I put about 3 layers of snow gear on and I was still freezing. Never again haha. I'm cold blooded so I need heat to fully function.

Come January/February here in Alberta, we think those temps are pretty nice! We generally get a good stretch of -40 for a bit.

This is typical of any April or May (and sometimes June).  We always get some snow.  :D

It is over the tops of my running shoes, but should melt in 4-7 days.  Not the most conductive to finding ants though....

Here is a picture from this morning:

Not too sure, but they sure are multiplying....

We had a massive thunderstorm last night here. Glad we don't get snow! It seems like you get more Snow then we do.

And here I am sitting with the windows open enjoying the sunny 82°F weather today.
I'm glad I don't live somewhere where it snows...
We've had what seems like a lot more rain than normal this spring, but that could be due to the fact that we've been in a drought pretty much since 2009/2010 and I'm not used to the normal amount of rain...
