I have been watching my Camponotus pennsylvanicus colony very closely recently. I noticed that the foragers and workers that collect food from the outworld do not fill up their social stomachs with food and prefer to have an empty social stomach. All the other workers and Majors that stay in the nest most of the time gorge themselves as much as they can. I thought this was pretty interesting and was wondering if anyone else has noticed this in their colonies?

Well the ants back at nest don't have anything better to do and social stomachs have a limited capacity
