New member here just saying hello.  I had always been interested in keeping ants every since reading George R.R. Martin's novella "Sandkings". And for those that have read this story...no, not going to set up some sort of battle arena.

And this past X-mas picked up a nice starter formicarium from THA, and now just need to put something in it.  And on this note....

Since I couldn't find anywhere else to post this...a shout out to yen_saw.

Common courtesy would have been to let me know that you had sold the P. gracilis colony yesterday.  Even though I had contacted you last Sunday, and pending final details, had thought it was a done deal.  Guess I was wrong.

A deal is never done until it is paid for or papers are signed. In contract law, either of these things constitutes consideration. You'll find queens in Texas as the weather improves.

I really would not recommend Pseudomyrmex as your first colony. Even though I have never kept them myself they seem to be a very exotic ant that I would not recommend for beginners. In Georgia it would probably be very easy to find Solenopsis invicta, Tetramorium sp. e or Linepithema humile.

Currently Keeping:
Trachymyrmex septentrionalis

Pheidole pilifera

Forelius sp. (Monogynous, bicolored) "Midwestern Forelius"
Crematogaster cerasi

Pheidole bicarinata

Aphaenogaster rudis

Camponotus chromaiodes

Formica sp. (microgena species)

Nylanderia cf. arenivega

I actually wondered if that was the case, but didn't want to assume.  Glad to know it was sorted.
