I would just leave it. If there was some bad fungus attacking it, I highly doubt removing their dying garden is going to stop it from spreading. I would just wait and hope that they are able to fight it off somehow, the way they probably do in nature (if that's indeed what is happening).

All they do is go after the dry stuff, like dried plants and seeds mostly. I haven't really seen them cut anything up in a long time. Maybe they go for fresher foods when they need more humidity or something. But, guess as a desert species they probably evolved to prefer drier stuff.
Yup. I figured they probably evolved to prefer dried stuff too. There is a guy whose colony loves chives though.
