That's awesome your colony is still doing that well. Do you have any pictures of this warping you're talking about I would really like to see what's happening; those containers are not made of acrylic.

I'm having a hard time remember exactly what design you have. I know you had one of the original ones with the floor completely covered in Hydrostone. I think you then got one of the newer ones for your Pheidole. Did you take the Pheidole out and attach it to your Acromyrmex colony?

There are many types of clear transparent plastics. I know most people automatically assume any hard clear transparent plastic is acrylic. These containers are actually made of Polystyrene. Either way, I can't imagine how those small containers could be warping enough for the lids to no longer stay closed. Considering how far the lids fit down into the container, that would take some major warping. Something I don't know how you would achieve short of melting them. I'm really interested in seeing a picture of what you are talking about.

I honestly don't know how these containers can warp. I think you might want to check the entrance. If there is any obstructions, it will not sit right. All the yellow and brown stuff I think is actually waste from the fungus.

The fungus waste is normal as far as I know. I don't know what to say about warping BoxBox containers. I have hundreds of them, and have for years, many of them full of water, and I have never seen warping of any kind.
