Any tips for Myrmecocystus mexicanus

I am interested in starting a Myrmecocystus mexicanus colony and am having a hard time finding any information about their habitats and nests.  I think I read somewhere that you need to use a vertical nest type since they like to hang from the ceilings in their chambers?  Any tips about raising them and ideas for a formicarium would be great!

Hey BaconPancakes, these are a finicky species.  I had my colony to about 18, but then they randomly died off within a few days.  Here is a list of m. mexicanus journals that might be of assistance:
