Hi everyone,

I decided to share my handmade formicariums because sometimes i feel that i need to get new ideas or reviews. That makes me better :) The formicariums which i built could be useful for someone else at a point.

Very cool. :) Look out for the cork though, it molds easily and quickly.

Also stay away from Crematogaster sp. they can chew through cork and escape. Nice looking formicarium.

Very nice, really like your micro round formicarium.

Awesome for small ants.

Hi. You build very cool. What material is circular nest? Looks like a pumice stone, but it is obviously, however, moldable.

Most likely any ant can chew through cork.

I really like pico things. My reef aquariums, planted aquariums are all pico or nano. Thank you :)

Hi Nardimai. Outworld made by Plaster + soil. Nest is Ytong.

That is paperclip box. I bought them from IKEA :) Of course for boxes not for the paperclips :)

I'm making new outworld for the other War Zone nest.

How is the humidity kept in? All that exposed concrete will dry out pretty quick.

Ok, now I think you are showing off.  :D

Just teasing.

That looks very neat.

Are you planning on adding an additional tunnel for when you have to move them to a bigger nest?

Can I ask where you got that neat container?  I find it difficult to find flat bottomed containers to pour nests.

I prefer foraging areas that are removable for easy cleaning (and hibernation), but that is just my preference.

What species of ant are you planning on putting in there?

Thanks for your comment.

Here it is. Left for ( test tube ) humidity. Right side is totally for moving. They are all have connections inside the nest. So if i decide to move them to a bigger nest i will use right side connection.

I bought it from IKEA. 4,99 Turkish Liras. = 1,5 dollars.   :)

Actually I have not decided yet. I just wanted to make a new nest for someting. Maybe messors ? i really don't know :)
