All about the shipping method. Take cues from the Tarantula hobby- line the box with styrofoam, and wrap a hand warmer in paper towels to mix into the padding.
Current Colonies:
Aphaenogaster tennesseensis (50 Workers)
Formica subsericea (5+ Workers)
Tetramorium caespitum (50+ Workers)
Parastic Lasius (15 Accepted Host Workers)
Crematogaster cerasi (10 + Workers)
Temnothorax sp. (70 + workers)
Depending on how your mailing system works, also label the outside of the box "Fragile" as well as "Keep at room temperature". In Canada, I have not had an issue yet with boxes labelled "keep at room temperature" as long as they were shipping with a 2 day delivery.
