Sure, the grout one or the firebrick one?  The tunnels are pretty large in both nests, they were designed to hold Camponotus or Formica comfortably.  Lots of room for them expand.

Nothing is getting out of the firebrick one, short of Veromessor chewing their way out.

They won't get out of the grout one either.  The entire backing is sealed, and I am not sure they can even fit into the crack.  Brachmyrmex might fit into the crack, but they still wouldn't be able to escape

It is still available, and you can have it.

I am losing a lot of my storage space.

I have a bunch of larger items like foraging areas and containers to make them on sale.

Both together are 1.5kg, and going to that address is coming out to $28.

I've seen it being used before, but the main issue here is how you get a-hold of a big enough piece of it.

Firebrick is also a possibility.  It is also much more common and can be found at most kiln pottery stores and even in Canadian Tire.

Pumice is pricey depending on where you live.  It simply is not available where I am so I do not use it to make nests.

There is a thread discussing pros and cons of various building materials.  http://www.formicult...ium/#entry11018

Some pumice, the water just drips right through with no retention capacity, and some is so dense, there is no absorption capacity.

Yes, I ship all over Canada. It usually averages out to around $20 for Xpresspost shipping (3-4 day).

They have eggs, although most are not hibernating yet.  I will also PM you in case you don't see this.

It appears you are located in the US. If so, you can't buy ants from her.
