Hi guys, thank you for creating an awesome forum, I'm very new in ant keeping.
I'm actually an Australian staying in Jakarta for a short period of time. Since there's so many ants around the house got me curious.

Odontoponera Traversa brought me here, I caught flightless queen and now she laid some eggs, so I will be making a small formicarium for her, Advice on transferring to new enclosure will be great.

I also caught a Cantonopus Iritans queen, no eggs yet, what medium do you guys use to keep her from escaping. Sometimes I see a thin line around the top of the enclosures what medium is that?

One last question, I see people using a small medium for the water and some red liquid, then turned it upside down, how do you make that, that's ingenious.

Regards
Jeff

Welcome. :)

You are probably seeing something called Fluon. It's commonly used by entomologists to keep insects contained. The liquid feeders you are seeing are probably feeders made by byFormica (http://www.amazon.co...k/dp/B016TPTGIQ). The red liquid is most likely hummingbird nectar, which is basically just sugar water with preservatives.
