At 0:27 in the 'Pheidole' video, you mention the queen is "sleeping." Are you sure of this? Did you hear snoring?
As far as I know, ants don't truly sleep as much as they simply rest to conserve energy. To understand whether ants truly sleep, in the way we understand sleep, we would have to monitor their brain activity, as well as examine for signs of droolage on the cotton.
