This was a long time ago but I was the one who bought this colonyUpdate 4-6-2019
I sold this colony. Too much to take care of.
Neat! How long did they kick around or are they still going.

So I had the queen for a few months but out of nowhere their container became infested with mites (I still don't know where from) the mites soon became a problem became a problem for the ants and the around 6 to 8 workers were killed by them, then in the following weeks the queen ate her eggs (probably due to the stress of the death of her children) then the queen died.
I tried to start a few colonies with queens I caught from my are but they ultimately failed, after those I left the hobby for a few years and I now am back into it and trying to start a new colony.

Good Luck! I had a mite attack a while ago and it killed all my colonies, but I kept with it and I’ve just grown. Also I suggest trying Formica species or try Novomessor.
Thanks! I'm really excited to get back into the hobby and will definitely look into those genus in the days to come.
