It really depends on the colony in question, how old it is, how many workers, etc.

From a little bit that I have tried, my local Lasius are pretty accepting of boosted brood.

In a large established colony, they may kill the new worker once it elcoses, or they may not, it can really vary.  I have never seen problems with Lasius boosted workers eating brood, but it can depend on the colony in question.

Formica are an entire different ball game over the long term when it comes to boosting...

I had L.alienus queens boosted with L. cf. umbratus pupae, the queens accepted the pupae but I've not seen any workers afterwards. The so called L.umbratus were most likely parasitic, maybe it will yield different results with non parasitic Lasius?
