I have decided to see if one of my queens from the September Flights would lay any eggs. I haven't seen any yet, but it's only been a few days. I'm hopeful that at least 1 queen will make me a Colony so If this one doesn't it's not the end of the world.

Here are a few videos I made of her:

I'll keep you updated :D

If you are planning on keeping her in that, add a damp cotton ball.  Lasius like humidity.

The bottom is one of those face cotton pads, so it should have enough humidity, she seems to be doing well right now. I need to keep it moistened though. Things in my room dry out really quickly.

isn't the winter coming in your area?

This is a Reverse HIbernated Queen, so she will be awake all winter and then sleep in the summer. And yes it's winter, about a foot of snow out there already.

Thanks Mannomorth, things are looking good [if Only I had a better camera :P ]

Here's that video ;)

I'm keeping her in one of these:

With some cotton on the bottom for moisture.

She seems to like it so far :)

My mom is continually buying them and eating the gum so I have virtually an unlimited supply.

I just need to make more :P

I think this queen finally has some larvae :D I'm hoping to reverse hibernate her in the spring/early summer. I think I'll wait until "real summer" hits and then Hibernate her.

I've got a little bit of an issue, this queen/colony [she has I think 3 workers now] has some Pinkish mold [will get a video or some pictures up to show you what I mean later]

Edit: If you look in the post above you will see what I mean, but now it's all the cotton [it's not the same moist cotton pad as the video, but rather a new "clean" one]

Whenever I clean it out, it just comes right back, so should I just try to get the colony to move out of the container all together? I feel like this is more than just a coincidence at this point, since I've cleaned out the cotton and it just always comes back [really fast too, like within a week it will be just as bad as it was pre-cleaning]
