Hi.

I put some sugar water for my Odontomachus queen (as she is semi claustral) and now, two ours later, she is having spasms and walking disoriented. I didn't use bottled water, so I think the water may have done this. Is there something that could be done to save her? What should I do with her larvae and eggs since I don't have other ants of this species?

I have always used tap water with no issues, how long have you had her?  What kind of container is she in?  Have you used any type of cleaners or air fresheners near the container?

I have had her for 2 months and a week. She was in a test tube with some soil and transparent tubing connecting it to a little foraging area in my closet. I had not used cleaners or air fresheners. Unfortunately she is dead now. I have to say that there was a termometer in the same closet and the temperature was always 25-28C as I live in Brazil.

That is too bad.

I am not sure what went wrong.  It may have been something in the water, or pesticides on an insect provided.
