Hi,

I'm Matt and I'm from eastern France. I found this forum few days ago and I wanted to discuss with other people from worldwide about ants.

I'm keeping many species like: Messor barbarus, capitatus, Formica rufibarbis, cunicularia, Lasius niger and umbratus, Pheidole pallidula, Camponotus lateralis, cruentatus and lateralis, Crematogaster scutellaris, one Crematogaster sp polygynous (8 queens together)  and one Crematogaster sp monogynous from Texas. (I guess I didn't forget one :D)

The biggest colony is my Messor barbarus one with more than 400 workers. When I started with it, there were only about 30 workers, that was in mai 2013. The colony grows fast!

I hope I won't offend you with my english mistakes, I'll try to improve myself as fast as possible!

Do not worry too much about your vocabulary mistakes, it's important that we understand each other :)
Welcome to the forum and very nice collection of ants you have there :)

In french, making mistakes is saw as unserious people that's why I prefer to explain i'm going to do some.

Else, there are lots of ants keepers in France, so we exchange ants from our regions. There is principally Lasius and Formica in my area, but more in the south of France there are Camponotus, Pheidole and Crematogaster.

I tried to raise many species to discover some I've never saw in natura, and if I've too much difficulties to keep them in health or if I don't really appreciate a special species I sell the colony. I don't know if I'm gonna keep all those colonies when they will be big. I know some guys with enormous colony and that takes time and needs alertness.

Thanks Anthony & Mickael. Yes it seems to be a lot, but most of them are just in a test tube, it doesn't take place.
