Is mosquitoes a good protein source. Those would definetly be easier to catch over summer rather than some of the other insects i catch my ants

Don't know about protein, but I'd bet the females are full of iron. :P

Mosquitos and fruit flies are common during warm seasons, easy to catch and handle by the queen. Later on you can have larger insects, such as fly, spider, cockroach, cricket and grasshopper (ordered by how common around my home).
