My name is, Tim, and I am currently living in southwestern Illinois in a town near St. Louis, Missouri. My interest in myrmecology began about four months ago. I have only one Lasius sp. queen, but she has not begun building a colony, yet. I am still on the hunt for other queens, but cold weather is closing in and time is running out for this year. Perhaps, a Prenolepis imparis or "Winter ant"  queen will be located soon, but finding one may prove tricky this early in the season.

I'm in Illinois too! Finally somebody in my state! I have a colony of Tapinoma Sessile( about 300 workers) I could ship to you for $10. They are difficult to get out of the dirt. If you are willing to spend the time it takes to get them out of the dirt they are a nice species of ant.

Next summer I can also send you some small colonys/queens too if you are interested.
