Update 7-13-2016

This colony had a huge die off for some reason. Just after that, I moved them to one of my new founding formicariums.

Sorry for the worker loss. I hope they'll do well in the new formicarium!

Update 7-28-2016

After the big die-off, they seem to be stable now, and it looks like the queen is producing quite a bit again.

Glad yours are coming back - never got the chance to establish a colony as my three queens died off a day after capture :/

Update 11-26-2016

Well, this colony is dead now.

The other day, they put some glob of something right on the rim of the tile frame in their formicarium, bridging the gap between the wet tile and the Hydrostone floor, and saturating the entire nest. I decided to move the colony into a fresh, clean formicarium. Instead of just forcefully moving them like I usually do with my colonies, I put them in a Fluon-lined container to allow them to move on their own. Well, they just set up their nest between the two formicariums on the bottom of the plastic container, where they all started drying out and dying. In addition to a large amount of workers I found dead, I found the queen dead as well.
