Yeah, they are very sensitive to wind movement too.
The temperature dropped a bit these days. I had a quick check on the golden tailed spiny ant nest today and saw a worker carrying a drone around. They seems be like to carry around nestmates around too. Anyway, this is a good sign that they may fly some times soon.
The male ants are unrelated to the Polyrhachis - As far as I can tell, some sort of Myrmicinae.
