I noticed in my crematogaster ant colony that a few workers were ripping each other alive and carrying the ripped ones to their trash pile! Is this normal and why is this happening?

Thank you for your time!

Evan

Maybe they have a disease and they are disposing the infected ones?

Currently keeping:

1x Formica subsericea, 20+ workers + a decently sized brood pile, mostly pupa (40-50)

1x Crematogaster cerasi 2 workers with brood (pls don't die workers)
