Hi everyone. I'm Paul. I have raised 2 alates to healthy colonies in the very distant past. I never stopped loving these creatures and have spent a couple decades fiddling with ways to make their crazy life cycles into a game. Table top or video, I have prototypes littering my past (and closet) but only recently started a project that has some likelihood of being a fun game. Biased sources tell me it's already kinda fun, but I'm too close to it to be very objective at this stage. Which is the real reason I'm introducing myself here. This isn't a marketing push, the project is a long way from being profitable. I thought that this community might get some entertainment out of it in these early versions, and one of the reasons I make "art" is for other people to see it. That, and getting good reactions is super satisfying and informative. The game is on itch.io named ClickableColony. I'm not going to leave a link here in an effort to convince you of my non-profiteering motives.
More about the things you probably care about! Here are some photos from my past, I'm sorry about the resolution. I wasn't "doing science", but I was very interested in understanding ant behavior enough to look for ways to replicate them in a simulated environment. My conclusion was "emergent programing" is hard. You're welcome. It has been good to "meet" you all through Member Introductions.
