1. Ashburn, Virginia
2. 2/15/25
3. My bathroom
4. Around 6mm
5. Black
6. Long pointy gaster
7. Oddly chill
8. Test tube
9. Idk

I'm not 100% sure if this is even an ant, part of me is suspicious that it's a wasp or a small bee. I am extremely new to ant keeping and this is my first time ever catching something, so any help is extremely appreciated. Also if you are able to give some sort of ID, please explain why you believe what you believe as I would like to learn as much as I can.

Thank you I was pretty sure it was, but I think I didn't want to believe it. I appreciate your help, would you like me to remove this post since it is not an ant ID request?

It’s all good. No need to remove it. Good to see another Virginian on here.
