Hello Everyone;

There seems to be confusion about the term used for the emergence of an ant from a pupa, cocoon or egg.

The correct word is ECLOSE.

Definition from Oxford Languages
“eclose - (of an insect) emerge as an adult from a pupa or cocoon, or as a larva from an egg”

Yes! The prefix en- means "in" or "within." Whereas the prefix e- means "out of" or "from." The ant doesn't close in, it is emerging out of.
