Hello, how long will Sunburst last after it has been opened? The website I bought it from says it goes bad after six months after opening at room temperature. Can I use it even if it has been longer? Will this be harmful to my ants?
Thanks!

Some people store it in the freezer or fridge. Others who have or do keep larger colonies buy the powder and mix their own when needed.

You can store it in a fridge for much longer than six months.

Awesome! I was afraid my Sunburst would go to waste. Would it even last up to a year in the fridge?

Hello TwistyPunch;

In the past I’ve purchased a sugar+preservative mix (PerkyPet) that’s used in hummingbird feeders; I’m sure it’s very similar to Sunburst. It’s dry so you can mix it with water in whatever concentration you want, and a quantity you can use in a reasonable amount of time.
