I've heard that Camponotus queens can sometimes dig out the cotton ball that covers the test tube. Is it ok if I put two cotton balls to prevent an escape? Or will this not allow enough airflow? Thanks!

You could if you want, but it's really not necessary unless your cotton ball is really loose or small. If it fits through the opening of the tube snugly, your queen won't tear out of it.

My cotton balls are jumbo sized, and they fit snugly, so I won't put two. Thanks for the input!
