I am starting to run really low on test tubes and was wondering if anyone has any good recommendations on where to get a lot of test tubes for cheap?

Thank you for your time!

Karter scientific, borosilicate glass is easier to disinfect because it can withstand more rapid temperature changes without thermal shock. For 25 it is $4 cheaper to buy from amazon (at least for my location) or for 250 buying from their website is over $40 cheaper. There may be cheaper but this is the cheapest glass tubes I know of.

Amazon link: https://www.amazon.c...247&sr=8-3&th=1

I also found this although it seems they have a record of poor packing and arriving with broken test tubes: https://www.amazon.c...250&sr=8-6&th=1

Hello,

I do the same. TarHeelAnts packages the test tubes very well. I always end of getting more than just test tubes when I order from him (so many high quality formicariums and supplies).

I buy borosilcate glass test tubes on Amazon, mostly because I'm an Amazon Prime member I get fast free shipping. I buy ULAB scientific glass Test tubes. They are 200mm x 20mm and it's $17 for 20. I liked this size because I usually keep species of ant that are large (Camponotus). There are other great deals on Amazon too, though.
Ant wishlist:
Odontomachus monticola

Oecophylla smaragdina

Atta Cephalotes

Mystrium camillae

Pheidole Noda

I found a website selling 100 testtubes for 13,67 Euros.

Teqler glass testtubes 16x150mm with rims. I got 200 pieces myself. They also have quite a few other types of testtubes if you're looking for specifics.

I have a bit of a follow-up here.

I'm also getting low on test-tubes, and wondering whether I should commit to some higher quality glass ones, or get some cheap disposables like these? Is it worth it to pay for the more expensive ones and clean them after usage?

Currently raising:

Manica invidia (1 queen +  ~30 workers)

Lasius niger (single queen + ~200+ workers)

Lasius neoniger (2 single queen + brood)

Lasius neoniger (1 queen + worker, more on the way!)

Tetramorium immigrans (1 queen + ~1200 workers)

In my opinion, it is worth it to spend more on the good tubes. THA offers some of the best, and they are worth it in every way.

For me as long as it is a glass tube that I can buy in bulk I get it. I don't really get why people are spending lots on tubes when they are just plasic or glass test tubes I guess the more you you pay the better the quality or something, but  In my opinion though for good prices, bulk, and glass test tubes go Amazon.

Just my 2 cents
