Has anyone tried writing programs to get info or alerts about anting? I made a script in python today to scrape a website for temp data and give me alerts when the day high temp is x amount higher then the previous day. Was curious if anyone has done anything similar or done stuff with weather APIs

I once used https://openweathermap.org/They have a free tier (max 60 calls/minute or 1000000 calls/months), but if you need historical data or more advanced forecast data you have to pay.

What did you use it for? How did it go? Did it end up being useful?

I tested it in development for https://antkeeping.info/flights/add/

The idea was to get weather data by location and date/time so you don't have to fill it in manually. But since the api is also only free for current weather it wouldn't work for let's say 2 days ago.

There are also a lot of alternatives now for reporting nuptial flights (too many probably) so I am thinking about closing this feature all together.
