WE HAVE A REPLETE!!!! Last night, as I was looking at these ants, I saw a huge, white ant almost two times the size of all the others. A replete had eclosed! Today, I found that very ant filled with humming bird nectar! Finally, a replete.

Texas has 9 species of Myrmecocystus. Antopia is based in Texas.
I know I'm just waiting till July to drive down to west Texas to catch some. I like to catch the queens and not buy them, because for me it takes out some of the fun of antkeeping.

Not much going on, as these girls are my most peaceful colony. They have recently passed the 30 worker mark, and and eating and drinking well.

What THA formicarium should they move into next?
I personally would get the mini hearth xxl once they fill up the mini hearth. You can just connect it modular to the mini hearth, if you don't mind them being connected. They will use both nests and while I have no experience with M. depelis, hopefully they are like the more common species and are very clean, thus they will not store trash in xxl(they will store it temporarily while processing), even if it's only half full.
