I caught a single Pheidole sp. queen digging her chamber tuesday night (02/02/2021).The queen is 7.5mm, and a few people on discord mentioned that it was likely Ph. barbata. For now that is what I will call her, as the ID seems to match. I am currently keeping this queen in a 16mm x 150mm glass test tube setup, heated at around 80 Fahrenheit. I've always wanted one of the larger Pheidole so I am glad I caught this queen, I hope she makes it. I won't be bothering her for several weeks. I also fed her a small drop of sunburst before putting her in an aluminum sleeve to block out light.
