Hi, I was wondering about the raising of pogonomyrmex species, considering I have 3 of them I want to make sure i am taking care of them correctly, I believe they are P. Barbatus to be specific, thanks in advance for any info (btw they were collected legally with a permit and brought back myself.

A standard test tube setup is a good start. The key to Pogonomyrmex spp. is to keep them very warm - somewhere around 90°F or so is good. Ambient temperature is better than simply placing a heat cable on the test tubes. A shoe box with an old shirt and a heat cable can make a decent improvised incubator. Additionally, although some claim it isn't necessary, giving them some seeds and insect proteins will greatly help them, especially the latter. Good luck!
