I've been a Star Trek fan since I was very young. It generally caters to intelligent, scientific-minded individuals, and due to the fact that there is a high concentration of such people on this forum (it is a scientific forum, after all), it would be logical to assume that there are quite a few Trekkies in our midst.

What's your favorite series/movie? Favorite character? Favorite looking ship? Favorite episode?

My series of choice is Deep Space 9, and Sisko has always been my favorite captain. Close on the totem pole are Voyager, The Next Generation, Strange New Worlds, and Lower Decks. I think Enterprise is underrated. Discovery and Picard were disappointing, to say the least. I love the Original Series, but those graphics - I just can't, it's too old for me.

Favorite ship is the Enterprise E, the design of anything doesn't get much better than that aesthetically. Close second is the Akira Class. Strange New Worlds OG redesign is also up there, as well as DS9 Defiant. Call me childish but I also love the Prometheus.

One of my favorite episodes is TNG's "Chain of Command," the THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS episode. Can't go wrong with TOS Balance of Terror either. Also am a fan of SNW "Tomorow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow." Kirk drives a Hellcat. That's peak entertainment. My favorite ever sci-fi battle is in DS9 "Sacrifice of Angels," brilliantly written episode. Gul Dukat is one of TV's best villains, that is a hill I'm willing to die on.

Also I found it interesting that in the Trek universe there's Teirenian ants, which produce bioluminescent enzymes. They got a shout out in Voyagers' "Child's Play."

I watched a lot of Star Trek growing up. I still remember when Deep Space 9 came out. I must have been 9 or 10 years old then.

"The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer." Prov. 30:25
Keep ordinary ants in extraordinary ways.

Long time Star Trek fan here.

I am one of the crazy people who dress up and go to conventions.

I have a whole wall full of autographs and even  went to a fan dinner once with Robert Picardo (Doctor / EMH from Voyager).

I also learned Klingon during my youth and had all the language books and the cassette audio learning tapes.

Qapla'!

The new stuff, I am ambivalent to.

I admit I have never seen the new Discovery (the whole new design and the harsh reality put me off), but I liked Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks.

Picard Season 3 is also awesome (Season 1 is just an ultra brutal non-fun gore-fest). TNG must be one of my favorite TV series of all time.

Best Trek series definitely Deep Space 9. Not as great as Babylon5 in both story and characters (Londo Mollari is just amazing), but it comes close.

Balance of terror is an amazing episode that is modelled after an actual engagement between a destroyer and a uboat.

DS9 has a time travel episode that overlaps with the TOS tribbles episode and it's both great and hilarious.

We should respect all forms of consciousness. The body is just a vessel, a mere hull.

I also love Trials and Tribbleations. It is great and hilarious. I've seen DS9 three times now, and after the last time wears off I'll surely watch it again.

I got hooked on Star Trek Voyager in college. I really enjoyed the great stories. I also enjoyed Deep Space 9.

When I watched the original Star Trek series it was amazing. Totally different from anything else on TV. How far we’ve come.

Watching all these shows now, I realize how imaginative the stories were while still being grounded in the realities of science.
