I've been a Star Trek fan since I was very young. It generally caters to intelligent, scientific-minded individuals, and due to the fact that there is a high concentration of such people on this forum (it is a scientific forum, after all), it would be logical to assume that there are quite a few Trekkies in our midst.
What's your favorite series/movie? Favorite character? Favorite looking ship? Favorite episode?
My series of choice is Deep Space 9, and Sisko has always been my favorite captain. Close on the totem pole are Voyager, The Next Generation, Strange New Worlds, and Lower Decks. I think Enterprise is underrated. Discovery and Picard were disappointing, to say the least. I love the Original Series, but those graphics - I just can't, it's too old for me.
Favorite ship is the Enterprise E, the design of anything doesn't get much better than that aesthetically. Close second is the Akira Class. Strange New Worlds OG redesign is also up there, as well as DS9 Defiant. Call me childish but I also love the Prometheus.
One of my favorite episodes is TNG's "Chain of Command," the THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS episode. Can't go wrong with TOS Balance of Terror either. Also am a fan of SNW "Tomorow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow." Kirk drives a Hellcat. That's peak entertainment. My favorite ever sci-fi battle is in DS9 "Sacrifice of Angels," brilliantly written episode. Gul Dukat is one of TV's best villains, that is a hill I'm willing to die on.
Also I found it interesting that in the Trek universe there's Teirenian ants, which produce bioluminescent enzymes. They got a shout out in Voyagers' "Child's Play."
