Good evening. I would highly recommend following the ID thread template found here for the most accurate ID. You can edit your original post. Good luck!

What additional information? Size and location is in the thread title, color and appearance is in the pictures. I suppose if you're not familiar with CT you can be told captured near forest land, but that describes the entire state lol.

I have never posted specific towns in ID requests before and don't intend to start now, if that's the concern.

So be it. Take that up with dspdrew if you have any issues. I will note your pictures are very grainy and not well lit so any description is helpful.

If the ID thread template was too difficult, you can always post your pictures on the ant identification reddit forum, found here.

Not sure why you turned your post into spam on the forum; it's against forum rules to make posts that contribute nothing.

Ants_Dakota was respectful in their replies and you just started being rude out of nowhere. Maybe you're having a bad day, but that was immature. You just could have chosen to not be more specific (which just a state is usually enough information for an ID anyways) like the rest of your posts.

I was a little confused because I looked through their last posts and they somewhat followed the ID template, so I am not sure what happened this time. I agree, they had most of the right information, I just thought the description would help because eyes are always better for small ants. I hope it was just them having a bad day and hopefully, they don't leave the forum, as that was never my intention.

In a previous id that I Identified this user seemed very chill, and happy that I and other uses were able to id his queen. So in hindsight I believe he had  a bad day.

he wasnt insulting ya, OP.  he was being truthful, i saw them too, you need a better camera, no way around it.

i bought a sliding jeweler's loupe and i tape it to an old samsung phone (if you can get a samsung j7 it actually has a great camera) and that allows me to take macro shots for ID.

ants are pretty hard to id from a mere glance, many are identical at a cursory glance (derp i misspelt it), and have minute details like how the setae on the face is, or maybe a lil spine on the petiole a little longer, etc.
